Abstract

Impaction in maxillary central incisor is not as common in comparison with maxillary canine, whereas it causes more occlusal and esthetic impact due to its visible location. This case reported a combined surgical and orthodontic treatment on two horizontally impacted maxillary central incisors with dilacerated roots. The treatment included 2 stages. In the first stage, the dental space was regained and surgical exposure with closed eruption technique was applied. In the second stage, excisional gingivectomy combined with orthodontic traction were used to reposition both teeth into alignment. During orthodontic treatment, transpalatal arch (TPA) was applied for intraoral anchorage. The maxillary central incisors were brought into proper position with adequate width of attached gingiva.
